Serena Williams Finds Time To Make Fun Of Outburst

While the main result of the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards was Kanye West stealing the thunder of Taylor Swift only to have it returned by Beyonce, one thing that may have gone unnoticed was Serena Williams' appearance. A day after verbally trashing a linesperson as the US Open prior to her elimination via Kim Clijsters, Williams was at the VMA's to introduce Pink's performance. Williams has had it given to her pretty good in the media after her outburst where she dropped the "f-bomb" more than once, but she appears to be taking it in stride with a tongue in cheek reference to Pink as somebody who "won't have to worry about stepping over any lines."

I guess this must have been just solid timing that Williams was available on Sunday, we know tennis wasn't on the schedule. Perhaps an attempt to try and put a funny spin on things, just not sure the MTV crowd got the joke. I'm not sure what the sound was after Williams' one-liner, I think a mixture of applause, light boos, shock, and people twittering, #teamtaylor- "What's the US Open?
