The 32 year old Southern California native, known as AGB by friends, parlayed a five year stint in the National Football League (his brother is former NFL player Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila) into a career where he can use his broadcasting and athletic skills to draw attention to cause-related platforms that will make a difference in the lives of others.

You're Lucky Merc Morris Hasn't Gotten Wind of it Yet

LA Governor Bobby Jindal may be one of the most prominent Indian-American politicians in the country, but recent radio comments indicate he's a far cry from one of the most prominent football fans in the country:

"I'm a lifelong Saints fan. I remember the bad times and the good times; when they were one and 15 as well as this year's incredible, incredible run. I'm predicting we'll go, not only undefeated, but all the way through the Super Bowl - something that's never been done before. I think the Saints are going to set a national record right here."

Audio via WWL.

Responded Harvey Greene, the Dolphins' senior vice president of media relations, in an email to POLITICO:

"With all due respect to Governor Jindal, our fans in Louisiana and elsewhere will be disappointed to learn that he forgot about the most accomplished team in NFL history – the 1972 'Perfect Season' Miami Dolphins. They are the only team in league annals to go undefeated and win a championship, posting a perfect 17-0 record, including a win in Super Bowl VII. We wish the Saints, and the Indianapolis Colts, who are also undefeated, the best of luck in their attempt to match our undefeated season, and we will be the first to congratulate either team if they accomplish that feat. But until then, we remain the only perfect team in NFL history, an achievement our players and coaches rightly are proud of."

Nets' Yormark on LBJ, Brooklyn and Dolphin Rumors

Brett Yormark was on WFAN's Boomer and Carton this morning. Among other things, the Nets CEO & President downplayed the Nets' chances of landing will-be free agent LeBron James, praised the work of Kiki Vandeweghe and Rod Thorn, and addressed the seemingly impossible task of finally getting to Brooklyn. Interestingly, Yormark also denied rumors he was offered a position with the Miami Dolphins, and shunned a statement by an unnamed source at the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority (as quoted by Carton) that the Meadowlands' Izod Center would be more profitable should the Nets, the arena's sole client, chose to abandon the venue.

He touched upon something that has seemed to be brushed aside with the Brooklyn snafu: the eminent domain case the team has been fighting.

Obama Election Would Boost Huizenga's Charitable Giving

By giving to "charity," we wonder if that means he plans to extend Chad Pennington's contract.

From the SunSentinal via Drudge:
Dolphins owner H. Wayne Huizenga said Sunday no date has been set for selling up to 45 percent more of the team to Stephen Ross, but the presidential election is among the issues weighing on his decision.

That's because a Barack Obama administration is expected to mean higher capital-gains taxes.

"He wants to double the capital gains tax, or almost double it," Huizenga said. "I'd rather give it to charity than to him."

Ross purchased 50 percent of the team and Dolphin Stadium for $550 million earlier this year with the intention he would eventually become majority owner. NFL owners approved the eventual transfer this month, meaning it can take place anytime.

"If you do it this year or you do it next year, the difference is humongous because of the taxes," Huizenga said.

Training Camp Postcards, Part 2 of 8: AFC East

As you may or may not follow, SI.com has dispatched "10 writers to report on the 32 NFL training camps across the country" and is featuring their reports throughout August in their Training Camp Postcard segment.

Here at HHR, we prefer to look at actual postcards sent by players to their loved ones, as opposed to Peter King drivel.

Today, we take a look at what's going on in Florham Park, NJ/Hempstead, NY (Jets), Davie, FL (Dolphins), Foxboro, MA (Pats) and Rochester, NY (Bills) from a player's perspective.

WaPo: Ties Between Dolphins, Jason Taylor All But Severed

Apparently, the Phins are still not over the fact Taylor's been shakin' his ass with Edyta.

Image: The Sports Hernia

The feud between Jason Taylor and the Miami Dolphins intensified Wednesday, when coach Tony Sparano said the Pro Bowl defensive end isn't expected to take part in any team activities through training camp.
The article describes said feud as "For weeks the new Dolphins regime, led by Bill Parcells, has fumed while Taylor spent his offseason focused on a budding Hollywood career rather than back in South Florida working out with teammates."

Said Sporano: "I'm glad we know this. We've gotten the information, and that's important." Apparently the "information" is that Taylor will attend neither mini-camps nor training camp.

"That being said, we need to discuss the current players on our team right now that have been busting their butt for nine weeks here."

Jason Taylor Continues to Impress Bill Parcells

As if Taylor didn't already make an impression on the Tuna, now he's back to playing dress up.

Then again, if Edyta Sliminska told me to shake some maracas, I can't say I wouldn't humor her. But did he really need that spray tan? Parcells is going to love this.

Jason Taylor Paso Dobles to MNF Theme

Last night was a good night on DWTS. All 6 couples performed two dances on their quest for the disco globe trophy.

While Jason and Edyta started the night with a Quick Step (one of my favorite dances), it was their second dance, the Paso Doble, that proved to have the most comedic value. His outfit, for one, was a bit figure-skaterish for my tastes. Her outfit, was just goofy. They should have ditched the long skirt thing and just let her dance in the cheerleader outfit (yes, I have a girl crush). The judges applauded their Quick Step (they got a 29), and thought the Paso was entertaining and different.

Other noteworthy observations from last nights show:

Shannon Elizabeth is just too tall for ballroom dancing. The judges are right that she looks awkward and lanky. Hopefully she'll be going home tonight. I've just had enough.

Cristian de la Fuente might be going home tonight. His pulled muscle during dance #2 last night probably jeopardized his score enough that if the votes don't come in, he might go home.

Kristi was knocked from the top position last night by Jason and Edyta, but she'll definitely be in the finals.

Marissa Jaret-Winokur is just adorable and is improving every week. I'd like to see her stay for entertainment sake.

Jason Taylor Dons Tutu in the Name of Dance

He made it entirely too easy to make fun of him with this little stunt on the season premiere of Dancing With the Stars. Truth be told, though, he comes off as very down-to-earth and fully self-aware of the potential harassment he is opening himself up to. Which, I guess, is very becoming.

But then again, why the hell should he care what anyone thinks. He gets to dance with the very loverly Edyta Sliwinska. (Ariel wants her. Bad.)

In other DWTS news, the Nutshot King Tom Bergeron called Steve Guttenberg "one of the biggest box office stars of the last 20 years." To which reader Yanni texted me "I hadn't realized 'Cocoon: The Return' was such a hit."

How the '07 Pats will Celebrate Other Teams Failing to go Undefeated

Because that champagne shit is so 1972.

Bill Belichick will attempt a smile.

Tom Brady will get a living relative of the Dolphins '72 team pregnant.

Tom seduces Mrs. Cszonka

In later years, dig up Don Shula's corpse and kick it in the nuts.

Randy Moss will cornrow Merc Morris' artificial box fade.

Jager Shots.

Stephen Gostkowski will reenact the play that made Garo Yepremian famous.

The lesser of two evils

The 'Pursuit of Perfection' comes down to this...Who can sports fan tolerate longer?

The 1972 Dolphins show up on TV and in print every season that a team reaches about 10-0 and the 'can they go undefeated' column gets pulled and updated from every sports writer's Save folder. It's right under the 'Coach ____ has to go' piece and the 'holiday wish list' that compiles all the things the old crotch wants to change about sports.

I've become numb to Dolphins by now. Especially this season. Csonka, Shula, Griese, and ol' Merc are just old men talking about old glory and when the game was great. They are like every other old guy in life, if you ignore them long enough they go away. If that fails, just finish every one of their stories for them and they get the hint.

Shouldn't Merc's head get an * ?

But if the Pats do go undefeated they will replace the Dolphins as the go-to guys for sound clips, quotes and feelings about another team going undefeated. Can we live with that? Do we need to see Tom Brady every season talking about the undefeated season as he ages gracefully and has already moved on to seven other models with names missing vowels and bodies tighter than a nun's va-jay-jay? Could I handle Teddy Bruschi and Mike Vrabel trotted out every pregame show to talk about what it was like in the locker room? Will Belichick even talk to a reporter after he retires? Could I stand Randy Moss in graying cornrows yapping about how great this team was? I have to say yes to all of the above.

It's the lesser of two evils. But at least if I have to watch the 2007 Patriots for the next five decades, I will remember the season. I will remember the team, the games, the way they toyed and teased and then dominated a team. I'll remember the Monday Night game when Baltimore came so close to ending the undefeated run and turning Brian Bilick's ego to a code red threat. But at least I will remember and won't have to rely on shoddy footage, the memory of men who can't tell you what they had for dinner let alone the accounts of a game from 1972, and the ramblings of Mercury Morris rewriting history.

It hurts me to say this, because of the fan base involved, but I am hoping for a Patriots undefeated season. I'd much rather see Kool-Aid Maroney rapping on Sportcenter for the next forty years.

It's going to be fantastic television to have Kool-Aid warning any potential undefeated teams not to call him when dey in his hood, but call him when dey in his crib. WASH YOU ASS!

'76 Bucs Remain Immortal

They're popping the champaign in Tampa today, not because the Bucs slaughtered Atlanta today, but because the Miami Dolphins eeked out an overtime win this afternoon against the Ravens, thus securing (for at least another season) the '76 Bucs' distinction of being the NFL's last winless team.

Spurrier: "Suck it, 'Phins."
