Well, that didn't take very long Mikey...not long at all...

Probably the worst kept secret in sports radio.

NEW YORK, Aug 19, 2008 -SIRIUS XM Radio announced today that it has signed renowned sports talk personality Chris "Mad Dog" Russo, the former star of the Mike and the Mad Dog show, to a five-year contract to headline a new sports talk channel exclusively available on SIRIUS and XM.

SIRIUS channel 123 and XM channel 144 will relaunch as Mad Dog Radio, a reformatted channel that will cover the spectrum of sports with engaging talk, high profile interviews, up-to-the-moment news and live remote broadcasts from the biggest sporting events.

24-hours of Chris Russo? Know I know really will know how Mrs. Russo feels.

You knew he had something cooking if he left the #1 sports radio show in New York, and it was bigger than the MSNBC Mad Dog Minute. As a subscriber of Sirius, I'll give it a listen the day he starts. Whether this will sell any more subscriptions is doubtful.
