Carl Lewis Running...for Office?

South Jersey Democrats look to be taking a page out of the local GOP playbook by recruiting a well known athlete to run for office.

This morning, PolitickerNJ.com reported that 9-time Olympic gold medalist, one-time Perfect Strangers guest star, national anthemer and South Jersey native Carl Lewis will announce today that he is running for NJ State Senate as a Democrat in Legislative District 8 - coincidentally in a town encompassed in the Congressional District of freshman Republican Congressman (former Philadelphia Eagle) Jon Runyan; and in the same county as failed Assembly candidate (former Flyer) Brian Propp.

Lewis is nothing if not patriotic.
