Alycia Freed

As brought to our attention by the rable rousers at phillyBurbs, bikini-wearing, cop-slugging anchor hottie Alycia Lane has been let out of her contract by CBS 3 (KYW-TV) effective immediately.

CBS 3 Anchor Alycia Lane Released From Contract:
CBS 3 President and General Manager Michael Colleran stated, "After assessing the overall impact of a series of incidents resulting from judgments she has made, we have concluded that it would be impossible for Alycia to continue to report the news as she, herself, has become the focus of so many news stories. We wish to make clear that we are not prejudging the outcome of the criminal case against Alycia that is pending in New York. We understand that Alycia expects to be fully vindicated in that proceeding. We hope that is the case and we wish her the best in all her future endeavors."
Their loss.

I wish Ms. Lane all the best and I am sure she will land on her feet in other great job, soon.

This station did what it thinks was in its best interest, I'm sure. Although it seems a bit of a "rush to judgement".

I have seen newspeople across the country (in the various cities I've lived in -- allegedly -- do much more and retain their jobs).

I remember one anchor in Detroit that was a notorious drunk and womanizer. He kept his job for decades before finally getting canned. His transgressions were real, not alleged.

Ms. Lane will be fine. Her skills will be another company's gain and this station's loss.

Rarely do anyone of us get the credit we are due "in this world". Only the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY can justify us and our good efforts. I wish you well, Ms. Lane.

I think she'll be just fine. Rumors I heard were her doing something like a syndicated Current Affair type program.

What years did Ron Burgundy work in the Motor City?
