If you don't mind, ole Rusty's going to emerge from his NASCAR silly season hiberation to get a little sentimental today.
This week is Jimmy V week on ESPN, a week to pay tribute to one of the greatest coaches in college basketball history by supporting the cause that meant so much to him, cancer research. Cancer took V from us far sooner than it should have. But with like most places he visited, V was able to leave quite a legacy after he was gone. The Jimmy V foundation has become a leader in cancer research and has provided hope for so many people over the years. Rusty's a proud supporter and this week, he urges you to do the same. Rather than bore you with my own adminiration of V, I'll let his own words do the trick.
Many of you will know the first clip, from the 1993 ESPY's, but his visit to Reynolds Colisuem in Raleigh, two short months prior might be less well-known (at least outside of Wolfpack nation), but just as inspiring.
