My God! That's Aaron Rodgers' Music!

On the heels of news that the Dirtiest Player in the Game Ric Flair is hanging up his spandex and sequined robes, the Indy Star (via Fox) is reporting that another aging vet, who like the Nature Boy has a knack for performing beyond his years and also has flirted with retirement in the past, is also reportedly stepping down.

ESPN.com said that "according to Favre's agent the quarterback told coach Mike McCarthy of his decision."

While we are quick to jump all over Favre's case for multiple things, i.e. his outlaw-like and sometimes counter-productive approach to the game, the media's love affair with him, and his perpetual indecisiveness to actually retire, we can appreciate the passion and enjoyment with which he played the game. We hope this isn't another of his off-season shenanigans and that he follows through instead of jerking his franchise, his teammates and Green Bay fans around. Not that we wish he'd really retire, but just for the sake of not being a dick.

Yardbarker ShakespheareD notes: "I can't wait until Rogers' heel turn against Detroit this year."

It's inevitable. I'd like to see him superkick Donald Driver through a barbershop window.

Good luck, Brett. And good luck, John Madden.
