CBS Propagates a Punter's Message of Hate

Giants punter Steve Weatherford told the world today what he thought about the City of Brotherly Love and has somehow managed to stay alive (so far).

CBS Sports Fooled by College Message Board Trolls

An article by TJ Corbs Corbs, which a source in-the-know tells us is a fictitious and satirical author on Bleacher Report (a content partner with CBS), was featured On the main page of the CBSSports.com college basketball page.

The article essentially was about how Seton Hall should be kicked out of the Big East. Granted, it is positioned as editorial, but the fact of the matter is that the piece was written as a ruse...for no other reason than to incite Seton Hall fans.

Evidence of this can be seen by simply looking at the VU Rivals message board.

Clearly, Wildcat fans are in on the joke. Comments include:
  • TJ Corbin is a compelling journalist. His career began 2 days ago and already he is an internet sensation.
  • Buzz Bissinger's head would explode if he knew about these journalistic shenanigans.
  • Remind me never to go to cbssports for sports news.
  • Can someone post this link on PirateScrew?
  • Finally broken through. This is an unbelievable development - one that we will look back on in ten years as a major accomplishment.
  • Thats unbelievable. CBS sports is a joke.
  • it's official - reliable, credible journalism is dead - long live the internet where fans can author articles made from whole cloth for no reason other than to tweak fans of rival teams
  • please make Providence your next victim - a buddy of mine went there and it would make my year

Bob Hurley: "Holding Court And Performing Miracles"

Yesterday we published a post agreeing with the Star Ledger's assessment that Bob Hurley, Sr. undoubtedly deserves recognition in the Naismith Hall of Fame.

This past Sunday, prior to the 2009 Hall class announcement, CBS News' Sunday Morning broadcast a piece by Armen Keteyian reenforcing our thoughts on the matter.

I again implore you to pick up a copy of Adrian Wojnarowski's The Miracle of St. Anthony: A Season with Coach Bob Hurley and Basketball's Most Improbable Dynasty.

Separated at Birth: Lonely Teardrops

Spencer Tillman said it was Reet Petite...

I'm in Heaven when he smiles.

Seeing Spencer Tillman today on CBS made me wonder what makes this guy (or his handlers) think that the "Jackie Wilson look" is exactly what kids are looking for on television nowadays.

The Dumbing Down of Old Media

It's official.

Mark this date down in infamy.

The bloggers have won, Mr. Bissinger.

As I'm on CBS' New York affiliate's website reading about race baiter Al Sharpton chiding race baiter Jesse Jackson, my eyes wandered toward the links on the right to check out some featured content...

What is this? I thought.

Is it a link to Epic Carnival where we are competing in a "boobie bracket?" (Go Vote.)

Is it a World of Isaac special?

No wait!

It's CBS' hard hitting news.

Home of Walter Cronkite and the late Dan Rather (he's dead, right?).

This is the largest media market on the planet.

So, it's only fitting that it's THE place to go when suckas gotsta know who the hottest babes in sports are!

Mike and Doggy Take Shot at Boomer & Carton

It sounds like WFAN's afternoon blowhards are implying that their morning drive counterparts aren't a "pimple on their fanny."

Here's the gist: Someone called in to Fat Mike and Chris regarding Clark Kellogg's refusal to interview the day after brackets are announced. Boomer & Carton had attempted to get him on the air at that time, and CBS refused. When CBS then offered Kellogg the following day, the morning guys refused him in a form of turn around being fair play.

Mike and Fat Chris, being Mike and Fat Chris, implied that Carton and Boomer (who works CBS television with Kellogg), basically were a couple of ham and eggers.

Mr. Tennis & Mr. Diet Coke jabbed that the Carton and Boomer had only been on "the air for 13 minutes." And probably don't know who Clark Kellogg is. Needless to say the morning guys had a nice little laugh about this.
