Preserving History: The Giants Win the Series! The Giants Win the Series!

After each major sporting event, HHR takes a look at how it is portrayed in news print in some of the nation's leading dailies. Part out of curiosity, and part to preserve the dying medium.

At least Barry Bonds wasn't on the team. Makes them much more palatable.

A Randy Johnson First

The new MLB 2K9 commercial is a major milestone in the storied career of future Hall of Famer Randy Johnson, in that for the first time in his life, the Big Unit isn't the ugliest guy in the locker room.

Lincecum Honored; Big Unit to Appeal

Without pitching a meaningful inning all season, San Fran ace Tim Lincecum was honored today as the ugliest ever winner of the National League Cy Young Award, narrowly edging Randy Johnson with Orel Hershiser coming in a distant third. Johnson is expected to file a formal complaint.

Make memories of terrible seasons

I am going to San Francisco for my honeymoon so a few months ago I bought tickets to a Giants game against the Diamondbacks. This automatically put me on the Giants email list for upcoming events, give-a-ways, and reasons to catch a Giants game for any other reason but the team.

I got this today and found it hysterical.

Show everyone you root for a loser franchise with a wonderful picture mousepad. Get a fan a minute gift by plastering his face on a mug so every morning he can enjoy a Cup o' Joe as he cries over the game recap of another Giants loss. How about a wall clock so you can joke to friends and family that it 'looks like time for another Giants ass-beating.'

How about a daily apology from the organization in every fan's inbox?

COLLUSIONS!: Bonds charged with 14 counts of lying, obstruction

From Fox Sports:
Federal prosecutors have filed a new indictment against Barry Bonds, charging the home run king with 14 counts of lying to a grand jury and one count of obstruction when he denied knowingly using performance-enhancing drugs.
Word is that Bonds and the MLBPA are charging that the feds have colluded with 32 MLB teams to bring about these charges.

Bonds' Grand Jury Testimony Unsealed

Greg Anderson has been loyal to Barry Bonds to a fault. His refusal to testify in the slugger's BALCO case has landed him behind bars, yet he remains silent.

On Friday, a federal judge unsealed Bonds' testimony before a grand jury.

For all that Greg Anderson has done for Bonds, not to mention all the blind support that San Francisco fans have given him, Bonds has some choice words for not only his trainer, but all you cracker ass crackers and Orientals out there:
...his answer to a question posed by one juror about Greg Anderson, the athlete's beleaguered friend and trainer. "With all the money you make, have you ever thought of maybe building him a mansion or something?" Bonds replied, "One, I'm black. And I'm keeping my money. And there's not too many rich black people in this world. And I'm keeping my money. There's more wealthy Asian people and Caucasian and white. There ain't that many rich black people. And I ain't giving my money up. That's why."
